Ireland Schmireland

For practically forever I have wanted to go to Ireland.  I have talked about it so much over the years that now even my husband is convinced he wants to go too.  We will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary this summer and are thinking about going on some kind of vacation, especially since we never went on a honeymoon.  We took the first step towards the big dream of international travel before Christmas and went and got our passports.  I have obsessively been researching air fares and vacation packages.  Now, if I just had the guts to actually book something!  What is the hold-up?!  Well...I think it's the fact that we never go on vacations where we don't stay at someone's house so we aren't accustomed to spending exorbitant amounts of money on leisure.  And I would really like to have our savings built up a little bit more for unexpected house issues (ya never know when you might have to buy a new roof or replace your 31-year-old air-conditioning unit. That thing has got to quit working some day).  So part of me is hoping that some magical, cheap deal will fall into my lap.  But the part of me that has some sense knows that if Ireland is going to become a reality some day, the savings account will have to take a blow.  I think it might be worth it...I just wish I was one of those people who can go on vacations all the time and doesn't care about how much it costs.  I hate this part of my brain.  I need a sugar daddy.

  1. Oh, that will be fun! Don't hate on your brain, it is sooo smart. Saving for emergencies is so important. But this is a milestone anniversary and something you've been wanting bad. I hope you get a good deal and go for it! Have you checked with travel agencies? They might be able to come up with a package cheaper than if you bought everything separately online. I hope you go! :) {P.S. If you find a sugar daddy, see if he's interested in supporting my fancies too-haha}
